Servers are rude. Some antisemitic. They argue with customers. Some are high on some weird drugs. Very uncomfortable. They pretend they want to invite you for a glass of wine because you're friendly then ask you to pay for it. Onion soup had too much pepper. Quiche aux poireaux was dry. Service has always been bad for 4 or 5 years but at least food was good. Now even food is terrible.

This place is EXCELLENT and AUTHENTIC! It is exactly what you would find in France: sweet little, no nonsense cafe where you can get a cafe au lait that will blow your mind (the large actually comes in a bowl!) The foie gras was delicious and a very generous portion which was unexpected and appreciated; we love foie gras and we could not even finish it; had to pack it to go! My favorite brunch spot in South beach hands down!

Really nice place to have a light meal alone or with a friend. Waitstaff is friendly and food comes out very quickly. I wouldn't suggest it for large groups.

I have to try the crepes. Too much caffeine already courses through my body. The Grog will do just fine (Rhum, Lemon, Honey). Perhaps I will work up to a Croque Monsieur but my reasoning for visiting this whole in the wall French cafe is to read, wrote and relax while escaping the pouring rain the canceled my waterfront reservation. I read earlier that sometimes you need to walk up to a stranger and say hi. Be adventurous and leave no stone unturned. You never know what you're missing and right now I'm feeling very content

Partner in crime is OBSESSED with crepes and nutella, so when i heard this cafe specializes in crepes we stopped by. We asked for a nutella, strawberry and pear crepe. It probably would have been great if they had taken the time to do one thing. The pears unfortunately were not fresh, so fruit in a can has water and juice in it, well when they added the pears in the crepe they did not drain them. so the crepe on the bottom was wet and soggy. That is not what you want in a crepe. NO WAY, JOSE. Maybe i can give them another try and specify to drain the canned fruit first, or just omit the pears?? i mean, i am not an expert in the kitchen but a soggy crepe??? c'mon

Small, cute French spot near the park. I love coming here on sunny days, grabbing a small table, ordering a bowl of coffee (yes, a bowl), closing my eyes and imagining I'm in France. This place gives off such a nice vibe - or maybe that's the massive amounts of caffeine I consume every time I come. And the food's not bad either. I always have trouble choosing from the MASSIVE menu, but as you can imagine, the crepes are pretty damn good. The escargot is great, and the croque monsieur - don't even get me started on how good that is. For some reason, I feel like this is a great spot to meet someone for a serious discussion. A la Folie makes me romanticize breaking up with someone over coffee. If that's what you're looking for - this is the place! Otherwise, it's still pretty great.

Tried to get lunch Got kicked out 20 minutes before closing. The reason was the waitress / host or whatever she was didn't want to stay "an hour" like she said until we finish eating. Absolutely amazed we left the restaurant. I will never treat anyone so disrespectfully.

Good french crepes, very thin so don't come too hungry (or order dessert as well). I ordered the Italienne with mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes and prosciutto. It was good and the cheese was melted inside and the prosciutto was not dried. My husband got the norvegienne with smoked salmon, brie and mushrooms and it was good as well. The crepes are served with two wedges of tomatoes and a small side salad. I didn't like the side salad because it was drowned in dressing and made the leaves very wet. Didn't get dessert because I was not feeling like having another crepe for dessert and just wanted ice cream. However they only have crepe desserts. Service is nice but he is alone so kind of slow. I wish they will fill their crepe more.

OK place. Breakfasts are a little limited. Authentic crepes....they are pretty tasty. Service was OK too. Nothing really stood out here.

A nice hole in the wall off the beaten path. We came here on a whim because they had crepes on the menu. I got a small iced latte, which was really good and super large! I got the chicken, spinach, and mushroom crepe and my gf got the smoked salmon and brie crepe. We got sides of bechamel sauce. I thought the crepes were just ok. The chicken was a little dry and there was no sauce inside. Hence, why I needed the bechamel sauce. But the sauce was not as creamy as I usually have it. I had to use a lot to put some flavor onto my crepe. My friend's crepe was ok, but I am not a fan of smoked salmon and brie? The crepes came with a side salad which just looked kind of sad. It was wilted and tasted like it was old. Maybe I needed to try something else? Should've looked more closely at the other reviews! But I do agree that the waiter was super friendly and accommodating.

Some good dishes and am excellent location but the service is neglectful and unfriendly. The menu also has not changed literally in years.

I went to this place two times. Crepes are amazing the staff is very plaisant and took time to speak with us. For sure I will go back soon

We came the weekend before NYE and I wasn't really impressed. First of all, the place is kind of cute, so 1 star. The service was pleasant and quick, 2 stars. Food - minus 3 stars. I am really sorry but you can rub my back by the pool but if I am paying for food, it should be good. The prices were good so it wasn't a complete loss but here is my assesment: My wife and I each had a savory crepe. The crepe itself was super salty and the food can be described as limp. My wife's crepe contained spinach...canned spinach. Or so it seemed. My crepe had sausage in it and was super gamey. Wow, we were just let down. Mostly by the spinach and the salty crepes though. good luck A la Folie, fresh is best.

We wanted to find a good brunch place and A la Folie was listed as one of the top brunch places in Miami. When we pulled up, we were surprised on how tiny the place is. It can maybe fit a max of 15-20 people. Luckily it was raining so it wasn't too packed. The place is small and charming. The waiter was super nice (and cute) who seemed to actually be French (at least from what we could tell from his accent). We enjoyed hearing him sing along and dance to the music that was playing while he served coffee/food (adooorabblleeee) We started with the small cheese plate which was really good. Came with about 5 different cheeses, walnuts, pear slices and grapes. It was actually big enough to feed the group of 5 of us (I'm wondering how big the large one is). I got the duck crepe which sounded really good. It came in an orange glaze which was interesting but I would recommend if you like duck. My friends got sweet crepes (apple) which were also very tasty. My other friend got the pate sandwich which I would highly recommend. If you like French sandwiches or crepes, I would highly recommend and come back again. Not good for large parties (due to the size). Takes credit card, serves wine/beer and espresso drinks. Reasonably priced.

Crepes were delicious and service was great! The restaurant is very small, but cozy and comfortable. I would definitely come back if I am ever in Miami again.

I love crepes and I was really looking forward to trying out this quieter location. Had the caramelized pears, Brie and walnuts crepe. Nothing to write home about. Crepe was dry. Pears could have used more cooking time. They were stingy with the Brie. Walnuts were a nice crunchy touch. The place is charming and the outside seating on a cool night is nice. There is a new parking garage down the street which makes parking much easier.

A friend took me here for lunch. I didnt know what to expect since the only Crepe shop that I've been to is the Crepemakers at the mall. But this is whole new experience. The servers and staff all speak French and mostly only speak to you in French. I guess this is where I can go to test out those french lessons that I have been taking. The lunch was portion controlled but especially filling. The beverages are all made WITHOUT SUGAR!! please be aware of this. I ordered the Totale Crepe: ham, swiss cheese, egg, and mushrooms, with a side salad. I must say that the food was wonderful. Dining a Fresca on the side walk is nice, however if you sit at the tables closest to the street be ready for construction trucks and very loud vehicle roaring by behind your head. All in all i will be back to see what other items on the menu I might like.

Amazing place to get breakfast. Coffee is delicious and so is the totale crepe with eggs and mushrooms. YUM. Cool place to hang out in and read a book. A must go

Sat outside for lunch on the weekend. The place was pretty empty. The salads were good. Crepes sounded better but we tried to stay with the healthy option.

This has a great menu of crepes. There are a number of plates that are delicious. The Cafe Ole is awesome. I enjoy the atmosphere and the service. It feels like I am at a Parisian cafe watching the people walk by. Make sure that you bring your crew for a great culinary and social experience.

This place is wonderful! Run by French ex-pats with close ties to the French Embassy, the cafe like atmosphere is good for anything from a light (or full) breakfast, coffee and a house pastry - to a house roast beef sandwich (awesome) or crepe. At night the atmosphere is wonderful. The prices are what they are (honestly not that bad) and the food is always amazing.

This is truly a great stop if you're riding on a bike on the Venetian from Miami. You could also stop by to lounge around in breakfast. Compared to its sister location, there's no hustle and bustle because it caters to the more laid-back local crowd since it's off the beaten path (aka the touristy path). Less crowd, more breeze (it faces the bay), friendly server with a thick French accent (a lady with a flower in her hair, how cute), and a park in front in an area that is not as mosquito-infested... there are many reasons why to like this location more. A perfect place to study, relax, and read on the Beach - only con: no wi-fi. But can't really complain if they got everything else right. Food: - Totale Crepe: mushroom, cheese, egg, ham - delicious! Comes with mesclun salad ($9.50) - Cafe au lait (Grand Creme - French style - drink from the bowl) ($4) - well made and with foam - a good choice if you plan on drinking coffee and studying. Hours: - Closes at midnight... what more could you ask for? (UPDATE: during tourist season; 10 pm o 10:30 pm during the summer) Great coffee house alternative! A piece of Paris on the Beach. NOTE: - Parking is difficult but easier than the other location, except maybe during daytime weekday hours. - Tipping already included in the bill.

So this cozy little place is right by my house and I keep trying to like it to want to eat there all the time... But I'm just not impressed... The crepes are nice and tasty just mmmeehhh.... I love the feel and location, plus the staff is nice... I'm assuming I should try brunch as my yelpers suggest... I just have that feeling I still won't be impressed... We had the chicken potato mustard crepe and the quiche.

I love the dessert crepes here. Lemon, honey, butter, nutella, etc. Any of them. Yesterday I tried the cream pea soup. It was perfect for me. My friend said the gazpacho is also delish. But although it was a fierce 89 degrees outside, I still wanted a warm soup with a basket of french bread. I like this location because it is easy to get to. If you park at the meters though, watch out the metermaids are watching and will snake you a ticket.

So...hands down, best crepes (outside of Paris)! Service was superb, not sure what happened in other reviews:-l. Recommended the restaurant to some other tourists we met in a bar nearby:-) We had a mimosa, the salmon/spinach/Swiss crepe (w/a side of vinaigrette), and nutella/strawberry crepe...awesome options:-). Even got to practice my poor poor knowledge of the French language LOL. We ate outside in our bathing suits...relaxing! We were old grad students accidentally vacationing in Miami with the college Spring Breakers, but this location allows you to get away:)

hands down the best dinner i ate while in Miami. Ridiculously cheap crepes that are unbelievably tasty [$4-12]. Fantastic service made authentic by an authentic French guy. Some good wine choices. Great decor. Very small and quaint looking place that has a nice rustic feel to it. Not even remotely crowded because its slightly off to the side of the typical touristy areas. You may, by the way, walk over there by taking Lincoln rd all the way down past the theaters and crossing over a small bridge by foot. Bill came out to 60$ with 2 glasses of wine, soda, two orders of sweet crepes, 1 order of a crepe with chicken and some awesome sausage, potato and spinach dish [generous tip included].

I was recently staying with a friend nearby and we stopped in for lunch. The setting is fantastic, great view if you sit outside. The cafe is very comfortable, warm and inviting. The food was fantastic, our sandwiches and crepes were served with a delicious mesclun salad. The iced coffee was far superior to any local coffee house that I tried (not to mention the large chains). The waitress was also a delight and was extremely friendly. I enjoyed this restaurant so much that I came back for a last lunch al fresco before flying back out to the West Coast. Highly recommended!

Nice Breakfast/Brunch spot. Had the Almond Croissant as a starter; rich and flaky. Had the Italienne Crepe; excellent. Make sure you sit outside since the inside is dark and cramped

Perfect spot for a cappuccino and a crepe on a Sunday morning. Super relaxed with a view of the bay. Food is fresh and tasty and service is pleasant.

i'm travel to France a lot, and I can tell you that this place is comparable with the authentic "bistros" in Paris. The quality has never gone down in, the food is delicious, their vinaigrette is exceptional. If you like crpes like I do, the Nutella is a must!

  • Maria A.

A less touristy fraternal twin sister to the Española Way location. This cafe has the same menu at this location. I came here late one night after an event at the nearby Standard hotel. I was looking for someplace that had a quietly, soothing appeal and a kitchen that was still open. What first struck me about this place was the laid-back vibe, good music, and low-key, hip staff. I had a banana and hazlenut crepe that was the perfect late-night snack. Just sweet enough to be indulgent, just light enough to be forgotten quickly, and just portioned perfectly so to leave one satiated and without the dreaded caloric guilt. Parking might be an issue but nothing too bad. If you don't want to wait park at a lot across 17th street and walk over to this lovely cafe.

Learnt about this place from SoBe Food Tour. Great French bistro. The service can be a little slow.. I have only been to this place 3 times and had salads 2 of the times - I can't speak for anything else. I do enjoy authentic places and hence 4 stars.

Great lunch today! Simple, clean, delicious food. Attentive service. Excellent location. We had one savory crepe, hot chocolate w/whipped cream and a shared sweet crepe (caramelized pear with dark chocolate and vanilla ice cream). All had great flavor and well executed. Service was very friendly and prices are very reasonable. Sweet crepes are about $4-$9 Savory crepes are $8-11 Sandwhichs $6-10 Salads $4.50-$13 ($13 for Landaise duck confit, red onion confit, truffle mousse, potatoes, croutons, tomatoes... had this at Espanola location.... yum!)

A La Folie, a well-established French Cafe on Espanola Way, recently opened a second location on Purdy Avenue. Same tiny space, same Parisian bohemian atmosphere, same delicious crepes and galettes. This one much more of a local's place since it's far from the tourist masses. The menu is the exact same. I still think that the original cannot be beaten because of the stylish setting, but a it's always nice to have a second option!

A true, authentic French cafe with two locations on Miami beach. It was refreshing to find a quiet and affordable place after having spent a lot of money eating out in south beach. The interior is simple, the service is good, the food is amazing and very affordable. It felt like we were transported to France. Highly recommend their cheese and charcuterie platters.

  • Kiki D.

Hands down the best crepe ever..even better than the ones I had in Paris. The lunch there is also delicious we usually order the salmon sandwich or a goat cheese salad. My boyfriend and I visit as much as possible. I LOVE a la folie especially the one on Espanola it's such a cute spot.

  • John T.

Great lunch! Had the cheese plate, which was a good value and probably would have been better by itself, but I also made the choice of getting a tomato, proscutto, and cheese crepe, which was also quite good. I then stumbled off into the day, quite content. Service was not particularly good, but I wasn't in much of a hurry. But what does one expect at a sidewalk café? As usual, I will rant about Miami's insipid automatic inclusion of gratuity as being frustrating and insulting and ultimately reduces what good wait staff earns, but every restaurant there seems to do it.

Stayed at a condo down the street and stopped by two nights for dessert. Delicious crepes, cute small cafe atmosphere, great servers. Had the strawberry and nutella both times. Will have to try them for lunch when I get back to Miami. Also hope to try their location on Espanola, though this place had a local vibe I liked.

First time at this location and I love it! Usuallly go to the one on Espanola. Its right by the bay which gives a nice view and a soothing breeze. The food is equally amazing as the Espanola location. Crepes of all sorts, amazing bread, cold cuts, salads, sandwiches, desserts! It's like being back in Paris w a sprinkle of south Florida weather :D The food is phenomenal! My service was amazing and no.... u don't need to speak French. ;)

Was looking for a nice place for a crepe in Miami and stumbled upon a la folie. What a great place. I ordered the onion soup and a spinach, chicken and mushroom crepe. The soup was great with just enough baked cheese and seasoned bread, loads of onions. The crepe was cooked perfectly, not oily or greasy at all. The only served house wine red or white for $6 per glass which actually tasted just fine. Very laid back with some nice music in the background that was low enough to have a decent conversation. Service was a little slow but I am used to the northeast where everything is fast so not really a negative. I would recommend this place and be back for sure.

I felt like I was in Paris the day I tried A la Folie. As I entered the place, the waiter greeted me and I was seated right away. At first I thought you have to be speaking French to get your orders correctly, then after ordering, I got the exact meal that I ordered. The outside of the bread is cruncy, while the inside was fluffy. Savor the flavor of their irresistable meals. They serve fresh and hot meals on time. All in all, I give this restaurant five stars!

It is hard to find an authentic French restaurant that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. A la Folie is a tiny cafe that serves delicious classic french dishes and savory and sweet crepes. Feels just like grabbing a bite in France, even our waiter was french.

Came here for dessert with a date. The air conditioning was not working but the waiter gladly carried a table outside for us. It's on a quiet street, simple laid back place. I drank an ice coffee which was delicious, just the right strength for me. I ate a crepe with pear, dark chocolate and vanilla ice cream. I think I moaned with every bite, it was amazingly delicious! The texture of the crepe and the richness of the dark chocolate... the entire dish balanced out perfectly. My date ordered the rum raisin crepe and we both agreed the mine was far better, though his was delicious too, not as rich if you prefer something simpler. A great way to finish of a meal!

This place was great. Its a cute, small, french cafe. They have a lot of crepes, savory and sweet. Fresh squeezed oj too. Great to go for just a cappuccino or for lunch. I went for breakfast and had a crepe, but would like to return for dinner to try the escargot and pate. Expect to wait because it took awhile since the waitress was the only one there doing everything but she was nice and apologetic.

Really like this little place. It's quaint and off the beaten path. I have been twice and ordered the same thing, cappuccino and their crepe with bananas and nutela...OMG, to die for!! If you need a sweet fix that will do it.

I'm a sucker for a good crepe. I had the crepe champignons la provence and the crepe chocolat (nutella). It was a perfect brunch. The restaurant itself smells amazing. I love the area. It's off the beaten path on a cute tree lined street. I definitely recommend it.

I love this little cafe! It sits a little beyond the main touristy part of espanola way, and always provides a chill, cozy atmosphere where you can eat good food and relax/read. I was in SoBe for a week and came back here twice to eat and study. The food was always made promptly and the staff was super courteous. When I return to SoBe, I will be coming back to this gem! I love the citron-sucre crepe. It reminds me of crepes I had in Paris, and this is honestly the first time I've been able to say that. Their croque madame is also good, although they make it on a baguette, which can become loud if you're eating it with a fork and knife. When you add the food, cozy atmosphere, charming staff, and cute factor together, this is one of the best places in SoBe!
